The Motive

September 20, 2011

When I want to look for information on something, I Google it. I search answers through forums, blogs, Wikipedia, Yahoo Q&A, Youtube, etc.

Last August 2011, I was very blessed. I got accepted to a one-year language training program in Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) in Beijing (obviously), China. The best part of the news was it's under a full-scholarship sponsored by Chinese Scholarship Council. I do not need to pay the tuition fees, the accommodation, and medical insurance. In addition to that, I will be receiving a monthly stipend. (If you are interested to know more about the CSC scholarship, go here)

Anyway, as I was preparing my self to embark on a new journey (yeah! I know it's a cliche), I googled (I think google  is now a verb) for information about the living condition on BLCU and in Beijing. I also searched for tips and useful facts. I also looked for step by step guidelines on how to do different processes (and there many) and essential information I need to know. To my dismay, I was dissatisfied on the blogs and websites that I have read. I even joined forums hoping that there will be someone out there that will respond to my questions; but not all my questions were answered.

Thus, I was motivated to start a blog to address the quench for knowledge of the past me, who was looking for the things mentioned in the previous paragraph. I know, somewhere in the infinite corners of the world(wide web), there exist an identical past me looking for the same things.  Well, aside from the fact that I have nothing to do in the afternoon after class aside from doing laundry, cleaning my room, and watching How I Met Your Mother. This is also a way to communicate to my love ones in the Philippines.

You may also be not satisfied by this blog, but I promise to divulge all the things I know and will know/will experience while I am in the city (country) where Facebook is banned and proxies are needed to write blogs.

PS.
Notice that every entry I will put the date. Sometimes, I read something in the web and there is no date, and to my surprise, the information is 10-year old. In addition, note that this is a personal blogAll things written here are limited to the person's experiences, knowledge, and judgement, unless otherwise specified.

PSS.
I am still working on this blog. Thus, entries my not be complete. :)
